Metallica announce 'Orion Music and More' with Gaslight Anthem, F*cked Up, Hot Snakes, Liturgy Tue, 07 Feb 2012 17:30:01 -0500
Metallica has unveiled their own festival, dubbed Orion Music and More, likely after the song of the same name on 1986's Master of Puppets.
Metallica assembled the lineup for the festival, which will take place at Bader Field in Atlantic City on June 23rd and 24th. The metal band will close both nights and perform 1990's Metallica and 1984's Ride the Lightning in their entirety on each night respectively. The lineup spans a number of genres, with the list so far including: Arctic Monkeys,
Avenged Sevenfold,
Modest Mouse,
The Gaslight Anthem,
Cage The Elephant,
Fucked Up,
Best Coast,
Hot Snakes,
Titus Andronicus,
Lucero,
The Sword,
Liturgy,
A Place to Bury Strangers,
Gary Clark Jr.,
Roky Erickson, and
The Black Angels,
Fan club pre-sale tickets run $125 for a 2-day pass and regular early bird tickets will be sold for $150 when they go on sale on the 11th. Metallica celebrated their 30th anniversary last year.

Fucked Up has launched a stream of their new Chinese New Year themed single, Year of the Tiger [12-inch]. The Toronto band has been
releasing 12-inch singles coinciding with the lunar new year since 2006. Year Of The Tiger represents the latest entry in the series and includes guest vocalists including director Jim Jarmusch, Montreal punk vocalist Annie-Claude Deschnes and Canadian electronic outfit Austra.
The band had begun streaming the other five singles late last month. (Full Story).

GWAR has announced another leg of tour dates after their run with Municipal Waste and Ghoul. The new dates see the band sharing the stage with Savannah, GA's Kylesa, Ghoul, and Legacy of Disorder for a two week run of dates.
